In an effort to promote the overall well-being of students, yoga classes will be made mandatory in all schools across Uttar Pradesh. Even though the policy is still under consideration, the base plan aims at introducing a robust management for the incoming sports enthusiasts of the state. Keeping in mind the increasing sports culture, proper infrastructure will also appear in the remotest corners of the state.

Sports and Yoga go hand-in-hand

As a sports player, an athlete is often under extreme pressure to deliver in the face of all odds. To do this with a steadfast and calm mind would be the icing on the cake. It is a formidable challenge at any stage and herein lies the role of yoga in sports. For which, the government plans to make yoga mandatory in the training program of all sportspersons and school students.

Uttar Pradesh soon to be pioneer in proving quality sports education

If you have a sports ka keeda in you, the Uttar Pradesh government is coming to your rescue. With an initial budget of a whooping ₹100 crores in Uttar Pradesh Sports Development Fund, each district will soon have a Dristrict Sports Centre, for all sections of the society including the handicapped. However, all of this is still a far-fetched dream.

Further, Lucknow‘s old Guru Gobind Singh Sports College will be redeveloped into a Centre of Exellence (CoE) for three specific sports, details for which are yet to be disclosed. In addition to this, a plethora of sports related activates including sports journalism, sports law, and sports management will be organised for the students.

Under the new policy, land on lease will be given to international level players to set up personalised sports academies.

The policy aims at increasing participation of young children

Inspiring young aspirants to take up sports as a profession, the policy aims at increasing the participation of children between 5 to 14 years of age. From industry to army, academic education to social welfare, a coordinated approach with each such unique department, the sports federation plans to find the talent of each child, because every passion deserves a chance to breathe! Sports will also help children embrace the feeling of fairness and honesty at a young age.
