In a bid to enhance the education framework in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step by initiating the installation of biometric attendance systems in government colleges across the state. The move, mandated by the higher education department, applies to all government and govt. aided degree colleges.
Despite the directive, a recent survey revealed that a substantial number of institutes, comprising 172 government and 331 aided degree colleges, have failed to comply with the order, neglecting the installation of the prescribed biometric systems.
In response to this non-compliance, the government has issued stringent directives to the principals of these colleges, compelling them to set a one-week deadline for the implementation of the biometric system. Once successfully implemented, the tech will enable more efficient tracking and management of attendance records, making the education system more streamlined and accountable in the state.
