Streamlining traffic, new overbridge to come up at the Bharwara Railway crossing of Gomti Nagar

The new overbridge will provide a respite from traffic snarls in the section for the daily commuters heading to Amity University and nearby others.

In a bid to mitigate the traffic snarls occurring near the Bharwara Railway crossing of Gomti Nagar, the state government will now construct a double-lane overbridge on the Dilkusha-Malhaur railway section of Northern Railway Lucknow division. Owing to the same, the government has already issued a sum of ₹60.95 crore for the construction project.

In this regard, a letter has been issued to the PWD Chief Engineer and Head of the Department for the initiation of the project. Additionally, the Northern Railway officials have also been asked to develop the feasibility report.

Northern Railway's comprehensive plan for developing underpasses and overbridges

The Bharwara Railway crossing, located within the Dilkusha-Malhaur railway section of Gomti Nagar, experiences significant congestion, particularly during peak hours when students and teachers of Amity University traverse the area. Additionally, the daily commuters residing in Gomti Nagar Extension frequently utilize this route.

To address this issue, the construction of a double-lane overbridge has been proposed, which is expected to greatly enhance traffic flow in the section and provide a more efficient means of transportation.

Furthermore, the Northern Railway Administration has formulated a comprehensive plan to construct overbridges and underpasses in Lucknow. The plan entails the construction of overbridges at Dilkusha, Kesrikheda and Para crossings, as well as the construction of underpasses at Pipraghat, Gwari and Sadar railway crossings.
