Sunday unlock in UP: All shops, markets & malls to operate all through the week!

Lucknow will remain completely unlocked on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

In a review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh COVID task force, Team 9, on Friday, the Chief Minister revoked the order of the weekly lockdown on Sundays, across all districts here. All businesses, commercial, private or otherwise, will now be permitted to function, without limitations, all through the week. The relief has been granted in view of the dipping range of COVID cases and transmission in the state.

UP unlocked on Raksha Bandhan

About 10 days ago, the state of Uttar Pradesh had decreased the scope of weekend curfew, relaxing operations on Saturdays. The administration had resorted to this phased unlocking scheme, to prevent a spike in the rate of infection and new cases here.

Reportedly, all districts in UP, including state capital Lucknow will remain completely unlocked on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Besides malls, markets and shops, sweet stores and rakhi markets will also be functional, read reports.

Don't lose guard!

It may be noted that the threat of the pandemic has not subsided yet and relevant precautionary measures still need to be adhered to. Every individual must wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times in public spaces. Frequent sanitisation and hygiene maintenance are the need of the hour. Besides, eligible beneficiaries are encouraged to get their vaccination as soon as possible to prevent the threat of an infection resurgence, in the form of a 'third wave'.

Kanpur Traffic Police announces road diversions at Mall Road in line with metro development work

Traffic will be regulated on the diverted route from 4 PM on Saturday to 6 AM on Monday.

The Kanpur Traffic Police Department has announced its road diversion plan to ensure glitch-free commute in the city during the course of metro development work. Reportedly, the Kanpur Metro Rail Corporation has decided to set up a cross-arm intersection at the Motijheel Station of the Priority Corridor. This ongoing construction work will stretch till 6 AM on September 27 and all vehicles passing through this site will be redirected.

UP to soon get a new 200-acre-wide data centre park

The new data centre will come up in Noida's Sector-28

In a bid to cultivate Uttar Pradesh's commercial landscape, the state administration has planned to develop data centre park in Noida. This structure will reportedly spread over 200 acres of land at Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and attract investments from IT industry giants in India and abroad. The plan is expected to roll out by the end of August.
