By Wednesday, you'll have said "maybe next time" at least twice. This week, next time comes with seven options, plus two bonus rounds later in the month. Lucknow has lined up something for the stay-at-home crowd, the always-out crowd, and the one friend who says yes to everything. Skim the list, pick a few and lock them in before the group chat turns into a debate.
Your to-be-read pile is already a piece of furniture. The 23rd National Book Fair would like to turn it into a load-bearing wall. Books across every genre, authors who show up in person to talk about the pages you've been quoting online, and cultural programmes that stop the place feeling like a library with ambitions. Children get activities of their own, so someone finally has a reason to put the tablet down.
When- Ongoing till Oct 11 | 11 AM- 9 PM
Where- Balrampur Garden, Hazratganj
Gulzar-e-Awadh brings the old and the new onto the same ramp, with traditional and contemporary fashion in one lineup. Curated stalls, Kainooran Masalas and Jaipuri Vibes among them, handle your lifestyle and food cravings, which were already out of control. By the time the Sufi nights begin, you'll have shopped, eaten and strangely gone quiet.
When- Oct 9-11
Where- Saleempur House, Behind Safed Baradari
Nobody asked the car how it felt about all this. Six days of SAS FamilyVerse 2026, hosted by SAS Hyundai and SAS Kia, and the showroom has gone from the main event to the venue. There are AI family photo and film studios, festive food, and evenings of Dastaan-e-Lucknow with Himanshu Bajpai, Bhajan Clubbing, stand-up comedy and retro music.
When- Oct 4-9
Where- SAS Kia and SAS Hyundai dealerships across Lucknow
Your late-night playlist has been rehearsing for this. For years, "Ishq," "Sajde," "Ehsaas," "Saiyara" and "Awaara Angara" have had an audience of one, usually alone, usually with earphones in. Casa Bacardi on Tour ft. Faheem Abdullah finally gives them a room. Expect soulful indie music, poetry in between, and a crowd singing the lines you assumed were private.
When- Oct 10 | 5:30 PM onwards
Where- Dayal Gateway, Kisaan Bazar, Vibhuti Khand
Diwali shopping usually means the same lamps, the same gift boxes and the same exhaustion. Artisan Mela by FLO Lucknow offers a way out. Organised by the FICCI Ladies Organisation Lucknow Chapter, it puts women-led artisans front and centre, with terracotta, pottery, handloom fabrics, regional textiles, handcrafted jewellery and festive finds nobody else will be gifting. Food stalls and cultural activities make it feel like an outing.
When- Oct 11 | 11 AM onwards
Where- UP Khadi & Village Industries Board, Dalibagh
For one morning, Lucknow's roads belong to people who aren't honking. The SBI Green Marathon Season 7 with Mirchi, hands them over to runners: a timed half marathon and 10K, both AIMS certified, grouped as 18-45, 46-59 and 60+, plus a non-timed 5K for anyone aged 10 and above. The cause is fitness and a cleaner, greener city. The 5K crowd will take the scenic pace.
When- Oct 11 onwards | 5 AM- 9 PM ( Reporting time is 1 hour before the start)
Where- 1090 Chauraha, Viram Khand 5, Gomti Nagar
West Indies arrive for the T20I series with batters who treat the boundary rope as a suggestion, in a format that rewards exactly that. Expect a powerplay that feels like a sprint, a middle stretch where everyone does maths on their phones, and a final over nobody watches sitting down. The scoreboard will settle the argument, the family group chat won't.
When- Oct 6 | 7 PM onwards ( Gates open at 4 PM onwards)
Where- Ekana Stadium
Sufi music has never been known for its volume, which is what makes a concert of it so hard to talk through. Candlelight: Mehfil-e-Sufi runs sixty minutes, with no vocals, twelve compositions and thousands of candles doing the lighting. "Mast Qalandar," "Kun Faya Kun," "Tajdar-E-Haram" and "Mere Rashke Qamar" arrive as instruments alone, so the words you know by heart are left for you to supply.
When- Oct 10 | 6 PM onwards
Where- Clarks Avadh, Hazratganj
Every Lucknowi will tell you they know the Residency. Ask for one detail beyond the gate, and the confidence thins out fast. Lucknow Bioscope and Sanatkada Heritage have designed "A Heritage Walk to Residency" for exactly that gap: a guided stroll through its ruins, where each wall comes with a story and each story corrects something you were sure of. You'll pick up the architecture along the way, without a single lecture.
When- Oct 11 | 9 AM
Where- The Residency
Five nights is a long commitment for a dance with one basic move: go around in a circle. The Great Garba Festival makes it look easy, with endless dhol, live music, festive food stalls, and over 20 artists, including DJ Perisha, Dastaan and Avi, keeping the circle moving. The food stalls are strategically placed for the ones who need a break and will deny it.
When- Oct 15- Oct 19 | 5 PM onwards
Where- UP Darshan Park
La Flea is back, and so is the annual excuse to call shopping "supporting local." Knocksense La Flea Affair, Diwali Edition '26, has homegrown stalls for apparel, decor and accessories, curated food zones, live indie music and interactive games, so the browsing comes with snacks and a soundtrack. Diwali gifts get sorted somewhere between a playlist and a plate. The excuse holds up well, so does the shopping bag, barely.
