On Wednesday, the Union Home Ministry announced ‘Unlock 3.0’ and its guidelines, which will be implemented from the 1st of August. As per the new rules, the authorities have granted the citizens a number of relaxations although the perks come with certain terms and conditions. But do take note, the present lockdown system will continue to be in place in containment zones till the 31st of August.
Details about Unlock 3.0
The authorities have scraped out the night curfew rule but social distancing norms have to be followed religiously. There will be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of people or goods. No separate permission, approval or e-permit will be needed for such activities.
Yoga institutes and gymnasiums have also been granted permissions to reopen from the 5th of August. The standard operating procedure (SoPs) pertaining to them, will be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare soon.
However, metro services, theatres, swimming pools, entertainment parks, bars, auditoriums and similar places will remain closed. Various sorts of social, political, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions with large gatherings are prohibited as well.
The authorities have also mentioned that online classes will continue to lead the students because educational centres will remain capped until the 31st of August. Furthermore, Unlock 3.0 will also enable international travel, under the ‘Vande Bharat’ mission until the tail end of next month.
A message to all our readers
Although Unlock 3.0 has alleviated several limitations, the elderly folks who are above 65 years, people with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are being asked to stay within the confines their own home. If you’re stepping out for your essentials, do wear a mask and always carry a sanitizer. Maintaining a distance of 2 metres is a must. Just because the authorities are easing up on the rules, it doesn’t mean that we’re close to flattening this curve.
