UP gets its first railway station Aadhar Centre at Lucknow Junction

The centre will provide all the Aadhar-related services to the railway passengers as well as the general public.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the Lucknow division of North Eastern Railway (NER) jointly inaugurated UP's first railway station Aadhar Centre at the Lucknow Junction.

Reportedly, the centre will provide all the Aadhar-related services to the railway passengers as well as the general public. The Aadhar centre will be open throughout the week and will be run by railway officials only.

Railway Aadhar Centre to be operated by railway officials

Services like, enrollment, updation, and generation of Aadhar cards will be offered to the people. The move is aimed at offering services to the citizen at all times. The NER has been nominated as the registrar by the UIDAI for Aadhaar-related work. In order to ensure that the railway official tasked to operate the Aadhar Centre are equipped with appropriate skills, UIDAI will prove technical training to the officials.

The Aadhar Centre at the railway station will follow the similar SoP that is being provided for the rest of the centres by UIDAI. A nominal fee of ₹50 will be charged for demographic updates and ₹100 for biometric updates with or without a demographic update.
