Lucknow district officials may impose night curfew to curtail the spread of 2nd Covid wave

Uttar Pradesh to increase surveillance, amid COVID spike.

In a bid to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has authorised district officials with the power to impose local restrictions in their jurisdiction, outside containment zones as well. District authorities can now impose preventive protocols such as night curfew, based on the assessment of the COVID-19 situation and need of urgent restrictive measures in Lucknow and other state districts.

Children not allowed to board Mumbai locals; specific hours set for women commuters

Earlier, women passengers in Mumbai were permitted to travel by local trains under the mission 'Begin Again', in October.

Since the third week of October, the Railways has allowed women to travel in local trains in Mumbai but it was observed that many were boarding the trains along with their children. So in order to curtail the spread of the coronavirus, especially amidst the young ones, the Indian Railways has emphasized on the fact that ladies are not allowed to carry their children along. Rajasthan's biodiversity gets a kick with the spotting of a Puff-throated Babbler in Udaipur

The bird has been located in the Phulwari Ki Nal Wildlife Sanctuary, in Udaipur district.

The spotting of a new species of babbler bird, has added a new dimension to Rajasthan's rich biodiversity. This newly found small resident bird is a puff-throated babbler, whose scientific name is Pelornius Ruficeps and it has been located in the Phulwari Ki Nal Wildlife Sanctuary, in Udaipur district. The puff-throated babbler was spotted by 3 environmental scientists, namely, Dharmendra Khandal, Satish Sharma and Harkirat Singh Sangha, who are presently working for biodiversity conservation in south Rajasthan.
