The state of Uttar Pradesh has decided to launch the third phase of its women empowerment program, Mission Shakti, from August 21. This in-house campaign lines up several programs to create, streamline and augment benefits for the state’s female population. With initiatives focusing on safety, employment and hygiene, Mission Shakti aims to uplift and benefit women from all sections of society.

After completing the course of the first two phases of the Mission Shakti campaign, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to launch another segment here, focusing on women empowerment. Designated officials have been directed to ensure that all new programs devised under the banner of ‘Mission Shakti’ bring a homogenous development across the state.
The Director of Women’s Welfare Department, Manoj Rai stated that “the state government is committed to the safety, dignity and empowerment of women under which positive results of Mission Shakti have been seen”. Apart from programs, work is also being progressed to connect women and girl children with the various schemes of the government.
The scope of the third phase of the Mission Shakti program will include ‘Haq Ki Baat’ program, read reports. This new facet will deal with protection, security mechanism, suggestions regarding sexual violence, gender inequality, domestic, dowry violence, female foeticide, sexual harassment at the workplace, etc.
