UP to organise ‘Shiksha Chaupal’ from time to time, to nurture children in rural areas

When it comes to the educational framework of rural areas of UP, there’s much scope for improvement in multiple aspects. Now, in a bid to enhance the learning process for children, the state government will conduct ‘Shiksha Chaupal’ in rural schools of UP.

The Chaupal will be organised every month at the community level in 3 villages of each development block under the leadership of the block level officer (BLO).

BLOs to work for the promotion & orchestration of Shiksha Chaupals

The government has issued specific guidelines to all concerned BLOs across different districts regarding the organization of Chaupals.

Furthermore, the Director of School Education, in Uttar Pradesh, has directed the BLOs to carry out extensive promotions and publicity for the event in their respective development blocks.

They are further responsible for determining the venue and date of the program a week before the actual event to ensure maximum community participation. Besides children, the relevant teachers and guardians will also be invited to the event.

What is NIPUN Bharat Mission?

The “NIPUN Bharat Mission” or National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy is launched by the Education Ministry of India under National Education Policy 2020.

This scheme ensures that every child in India gains foundational numeracy and literacy by the end of Grade 3. NIPUN Bharat focuses on transforming the conventional education system into an integrated, enjoyable, all-inclusive and engaging for the students.

The ‘Shiksha Chaupal’ initiative of the UP government which aims to promote the learning capabilities of children and is directly linked to the NIPUN Bharat Mission of Ministry of Education.
