In a first for the state, the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department is gearing up to host the inaugural Dudhwa Mahotsav in November. The festival will be held within the sprawling Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Lakhimpur Kheri, near Lucknow. It is designed to promote eco-tourism through a blend of residential, cultural, and wildlife-focused activities.

Explore Terai beauty and Tharu traditions

Tourists will be immersed in the pristine beauty of the Terai forests while gaining an exclusive, up-close experience of the indigenous Tharu tribe's culture, including their traditional cuisine, crafts, and way of life. Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasised that the festival will celebrate eco-tourism, nature, and culture, offering a global audience a glimpse of the state’s diverse heritage. Over three days, the event will blend wildlife conservation, wellness, tribal heritage, eco-sports, and music into an unforgettable experience.

Prakhar Mishra, Director of the Eco Tourism Development Board, noted that the Dudhwa Mahotsav will cater to all, from nature lovers and families to artists, students, and senior citizens. This festival is set to be a thrilling opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
