UP’s SIR campaign ramps up with direct BLO support; all you need to know!
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign is currently in progress across Uttar Pradesh. As part of the exercise, voters must fill in, sign and submit their enumeration forms to their Booth Level Officer (BLO) by December 4, the state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), announced.
Easy search for names on the 2003 voter list
The Election Commission has made it easier to access old voter records. Here’s what you need to know:
A dedicated search feature is now live on voters.eci.gov.in to help citizens look up past electoral data.
By selecting “Search Your Name in Last SIR” and then heading to the “Search by Elector Details” tab, users can quickly find their own or their relatives’ details from the 2003 voter list.
Voters who lived in another state between 2002 and 2004 can also access the voter lists from those years, now uploaded to the same portal.
The update is aimed at simplifying access to historic electoral rolls that were previously difficult to trace.
Online enumeration & BLO details available
The portal now allows voters to fill and submit their enumeration forms online. Additionally, by entering their EPIC number, users can find their BLO’s name and contact number, and even request a call-back. A notification is sent to the BLO through the BLO app whenever a voter raises a call request.
Further, voters can also dial 1950 (with the district STD code) to reach the contact centre in their district. District Election Officers and Municipal Commissioners have been instructed to set up ample help desks, especially in urban areas, to assist voters during the SIR process, said officials.
Voters urged to cooperate with BLOs
As per reports, BLOs in Uttar Pradesh have already collected and digitised over 3 crore enumeration forms. Resident Welfare Associations have also been asked to extend full support to BLOs in their respective areas.
