The UP government has administered more than 13 crore doses of vaccine against the coronavirus. Reportedly, around 68% of the entire eligible population of the state has received the first jab while about 24% of beneficiaries have been vaccinated completely.
25-30 lakh doses to be administered in UP every day!

Furthering its efforts to curb the spread of the anticipated third wave of COVID, the administration is working on speeding up the immunisation drive. The government of UP has issued an order to ramp up the vaccination drive in the state by setting a target of administering 25 to 20 lakh doses everyday, for the next two months. While mega-vaccination campaigns are being organised across the state regularly, the primary focus is to improve the second dose coverage.
Cluster Model 2.0 to focus on complete immunisation in UP

The state government has recently implemented the ‘Cluster Model 2.0’ in a bid to intensify the ongoing COVID-vaccination drive. Under the ambit of this model, to prioritise complete immunisation, the second dose is being administered at village and block level where the first jab was administered using the cluster approach.
With the success of the first, state-wide rollout of the cluster model, earlier in June, this approach is likely to make the task simpler, equitable and seamless by moving over the hurdles likes transportation issues and the digital divide.
