In a bid to give a boost to the cultural and communication studies in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated to launch ‘Language Labs’ in the 10 state Polytechnics. These labs will benefit the students, especially girls, in grabbing job opportunities by improving their communication skill set.
Language Labs for Landing Jobs
The initiative will help the students hone up their language skills which will in turn sharpen their communication skills, a key requirement in the current competitive regime. This will also enhance the student understanding of their cultural identities- adding an asset as an edge to their profiles. According to a government spokesman, “These labs will particularly come handy for the girl students to get jobs.”
The UP government has approved the project to kickstart with ₹1.75 crore for the 10 labs, which distributes ₹1.75 lakh evenly among all language centres.
The students to be benefited from this included those studying in government Polytechnic in Etawah, Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic in Amethi, Savitri Bai Phule government Polytechnic in Azamgarh apart from Kanpur Dehat, Kaushambhi, Shravasti, Shamli, Kushinagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and MMIT lab in Kasganj under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), a centrally assisted scheme.
