Uttar Pradesh to set up four new private textile parks to accelerate industrial growth
In a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh's industrial landscape, the state government is set to establish four new private textile parks in Unnao, Kanpur Dehat, Shamli, and Amroha. Each park will span 25 acres and be operated by the private companies that build them, with the government providing crucial support.
UP charts next phase of textile growth
To further bolster the industry, the Directorate of Handloom and Textiles, UP Govt. is planning to set up a total of 10 state textile parks under the Sant Kabir initiative. Additionally, a major PM MITRA textile park is currently under construction in the Lucknow-Hardoi region, spanning 1,100 acres. This park will offer a one-stop platform for all textile-related services, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for the industry.
This initiative is part of a larger push by the state government to accelerate the growth of Uttar Pradesh's textile sector, which has already seen impressive progress. Last year, the state’s textile exports grew by 11%, reaching ₹15,500 crore, with products being shipped to 14 countries, including the USA and UK.
