After pink police booths, pink toilets to come up at prominent markets in Lucknow

Work for 'Pink Toilets' is currently underway at Chowk, Indira Nagar and other key locations in Lucknow.

In a bid to boost sanitation during the monsoon months, the Lucknow Safe City Project has fast-tracked the establishment of 'Pink-Toilet' across the district. Very soon, women-only public restroom spaces will become operational at several locations in Lucknow, creating clean, hygienic provisions for the female folk here.


Pink Lucknow, Safe Lucknow

The state administration and Nagar Nigam Lucknow have combined their efforts to transform Lucknow into a safer place for women. As such, the authorities have implemented several projects and protocols to ensure the wellbeing of the female folk in the city, under the banner of the UP's 'Safe City Project'.

The 'Pink-Toilets' facility is just another venture, meant to keep the city clean and its citizens happy. Under this inita several key locations in Lucknow, such as Chowk and Indira Nagar among others, will house public restrooms for women.

Safe and hygienic toilets for women

The work for the Pink toilet at Lal-Ji Tandon Marg at Hardoi Road, Chowk, is on in full swing. All unfished work related to pipeline connections, cistern fittings and final touches will be completed here in the coming 3-5 days. Reportedly, these community toilets will be ready for public use by next week. This new addition to Lucknow's civic arrangement is providing an equal pedestal to the women while encouraging the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the city.

RT-PCR test mandatory for all international travellers landing at Lucknow Airport

Amidst the rising concerns of a newly identified Botswana strain of COVID, inbound passengers to Lucknow will have to undertake a mandatory RT-PCR test at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport from today. While all international commuters will have to take this test upon arrival, domestic travellers will be tested if found symptomatic after the compulsory thermal screening. As per the notification issued under The Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and the Disaster Management Act 2005 on Sunday, this test will be conducted free of cost for all.

Indore Municipal Corporation to upgrade its existing dry waste segregation system soon

Taking its cleanliness drive up by a notch, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is now planning to upgrade its existing waste segregation into 35 different categories. As of now, with the help of the automated Material Recovery Facility (MRF) set up at Devguradia trenching ground, the dry waste is segregated into 12 different categories. Reportedly, this facility was established at a cost of about ₹20 crores.

The state of Maharashtra on Thursday announced its decision of reopening schools for all students from class 1 onwards, starting December 1. From Wednesday, schools will be conducting regular, physical sessions for standards 1 to 7 for the first time in 19 months. With this, all school students in the state, except those in pre-primary and kindergarten grades will be permitted to attend school, under the authority of listed COVID guidelines and SOPs.

Noteworthily, the final decision regarding the reopening of schools in Mumbai will be taken by the BMC Commissioner. This decision will affect about 11 lakh students (from classes 1 to 7 ) in the city.
