In a bid to boost sanitation during the monsoon months, the Lucknow Safe City Project has fast-tracked the establishment of ‘Pink-Toilet’ across the district. Very soon, women-only public restroom spaces will become operational at several locations in Lucknow, creating clean, hygienic provisions for the female folk here.
Pink Lucknow, Safe Lucknow
The state administration and Nagar Nigam Lucknow have combined their efforts to transform Lucknow into a safer place for women. As such, the authorities have implemented several projects and protocols to ensure the wellbeing of the female folk in the city, under the banner of the UP’s ‘Safe City Project’.
The ‘Pink-Toilets’ facility is just another venture, meant to keep the city clean and its citizens happy. Under this inita several key locations in Lucknow, such as Chowk and Indira Nagar among others, will house public restrooms for women.
Safe and hygienic toilets for women
The work for the Pink toilet at Lal-Ji Tandon Marg at Hardoi Road, Chowk, is on in full swing. All unfished work related to pipeline connections, cistern fittings and final touches will be completed here in the coming 3-5 days. Reportedly, these community toilets will be ready for public use by next week. This new addition to Lucknow’s civic arrangement is providing an equal pedestal to the women while encouraging the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the city.
