Bandra's St. Andrews Road now a No-Parking Zone till June 22; know more
In a move to address chronic traffic congestion and safety issues, the Mumbai Traffic Police has announced a temporary no-parking restriction on both sides of St. Andrews Road in Bandra. Starting from March 23, 2025, until June 22, 2025, the ban will remain in force 24/7. The primary goal is to enhance traffic flow and prioritise the safety of pedestrians, especially school children and local residents.
Parking ban to the rescue
The decision follows a review by the Bandra Traffic Division, which identified parking on the 15-meter-wide one-way road, stretching from Perry Cross Road to A-One Bakery Junction, as a major cause of delays and obstructions. Deputy Commissioner of Police Samadhan Pawar issued the directive under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, emphasising the need to alleviate congestion and enhance road safety.
Parking will be strictly prohibited for all vehicles during the enforcement period. Authorities have urged motorists to comply with the rule to avoid penalties and ensure smoother traffic movement. The Mumbai Traffic Police will monitor compliance and enforce the restriction effectively.
Residents and commuters are advised to use alternative parking arrangements. For updates, motorists can refer to official Mumbai Traffic Police notifications. This measure is expected to significantly improve traffic conditions and safety in the area.
