Whether you’re heading to the concert to sing your heart out to Fix You or simply trying to navigate Navi Mumbai during the concert days, things will get chaotic. In accordance, official traffic protocols have been issued under Sections 115, 116, and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, as per FPJ. This will ensure smooth flow and public safety during the three-day Coldplay event.
Traffic restrictions for Coldplay concert in Navi Mumbai
With Coldplay's concert set to draw massive crowds from all over India, Navi Mumbai Police have announced traffic restrictions to ensure orderly movements. Here’s everything you need to know:
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:
All heavy and goods-carrying vehicles are prohibited from entering, travelling, or parking on roads within the jurisdiction of Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate.
The restrictions will be in place on January 18, 19, and 21, from 2 PM to 12 AM.
Exemptions:
Vehicles carrying essential goods.
Emergency services like fire brigades and ambulances.
Government vehicles.
Advice for Commuters:
Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner has urged commuters to plan their travel routes in advance.
Roads near Dr. D.Y. Patil Stadium should be avoided during restricted hours.
Emergency Arrangements:
Adequate measures will be in place to facilitate the movement of essential and emergency services during the restricted period.
BookMyShow rolls out security measures for Coldplay’s Mumbai concerts
BookMyShow has announced a series of measures to ensure a smooth and secure concert experience for ticket holders attending Coldplay’s Mumbai shows. In an Instagram post, the platform emphasised the importance of carrying proper documentation:
All attendees must bring a copy of their valid government-issued photo ID.
A soft copy of the primary transaction holder’s government photo ID is also required.
BookMyShow's Key Security Measures:
The official wristband provided at the venue will act as the attendee’s ticket.
Multiple levels of security checks will be conducted to identify counterfeit wristbands and deter ticket scalping.
Strict action will be taken against black market activity. BookMyShow warned, "Black marketing is strictly prohibited. Anyone found attempting to sell or purchase tickets through such channels, or possessing counterfeit wristbands, will face confiscation and may be handed over to authorities for further action."
Coldplay in Mumbai: Things to expect
No tickets are being sold at the venue.
The gates will open at 3 PM and close at 7:45 PM; Coldplay is expected to take the stage post-gate closure.
On all three days, artists Shone [5:15 PM], Elyanna [5:45 PM], and Jasleen Royal [6:30 PM] will be the opening acts for Coldplay.
Wristbands act as "tickets", so they cannot be replaced, damaged, removed, or transferred to another person.
Kids under 5 are not allowed and children below 14 years of age are advised to be accompanied by a guardian.
Re-entry is not permitted.
