Dough & Joe: Bandra’s newest neighbourhood pizzeria that lets you sit & savour
There are places in Mumbai designed to dazzle, and then there are places designed to let you breathe. Dough & Joe in Bandra falls into the latter. Here, pizzas rise slowly, conversations linger longer than expected, and the coffee feels like it’s been thought through by someone who genuinely cares. Dough & Joe is not trying to be “the next big thing.” It is, instead, a space stitched with a quiet kind of joy, a grown-up diner with a child’s sense of wonder.
A family story in every corner
The soul of Dough & Joe rests with Priyanka and Khushal Kotak, who built the diner around their two-year-old son, Vansh. His tiny rituals, from baby-sized coffee dates to an early love for pizza, seeded the idea for this homegrown space. And that sentiment lingers everywhere, in the open kitchen, in the way staff banter and in the rhythm that reminds you of someone’s living room.
A pause button on Hill Road
Hill Road might throw its usual playlist of honking rickshaws and hurried crowds, but Dough & Joe seems unbothered by all that. Designed by Studio 6158, the red-and-blue palette everywhere is warm without trying too hard. Climb up to the terrace and the city shifts again. A charming Vespa installation sits against Bandra’s skyline, setting a mood that is part Italian, part Mumbai. The space feels ideal for dates, early dinners, or those golden-hour conversations.
The menu is surprisingly comforting
Moving on to the part we live for most, the food. At Dough & Joe, the dough takes centre stage, airy and beautifully blistered at the edges. The Thecha Prawns Pizza brings a kick, the Bombay Kheema Pizza delivers street-style comfort, and even the vegetarian Garden Feast Pizza stands out. If you lean towards small plates, the Ghee Roast Ravioli is indulgent, the Dosa Batter Onion Rings offer a tangy crunch, and the Butter Garlic Prawns is a must try. For something fiery, the Thecha Paneer Panuozzo brings the heat. Pair your spread with Joe’s Special Vietnamese Coffee or the Nutella Iced Latte, because sometimes caffeine carries the moment better than any cocktail.
Knock Knock
In a neighbourhood that never stops chasing the next big thing, Dough & Joe stands out by doing something brilliant and genuinely delicious. Whether you come to savour a latte alone or unwind after a long day, it feels just right. Keep up with their latest on Instagram at Dough & Joe.
