India’s second and Mumbai’s first McDonald’s outlet at Bandra’s Linking Road, established in 1996, has recently undergone a manga-inspired makeover! Thus, for the first time in India, the iconic fast food chain has flipped its golden arches of “M” and replaced with a “W”, as featured in iconic anime shows, to rename itself as WcDonald’s.
McDonald’s has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the anime world and plucked them into real life! So here are a few peeks!
We’re lovin’ it!
WcDonald’s is a fictional version of McDonald’s that has appeared in hundreds of different anime films and shows. When we arrived at this new store, we couldn’t stop gazing at the walls dressed like comic books with manga characters engaged in yummy-licious conversations and shades of McDonald’s patent red-yellow paying their tribute.
Lucky for us, with a new makeover, a new menu has come up! As part of this non-fictional world menu, McDonald’s has dropped a “very savoury, very oishii‘ (Japanese for “tasty”) WcDonald’s Sauce. McD suggests pairing this with its redefined “WcNuggets” (aka Chicken McNuggets), fries or any other item on the menu, that calls for a piquant marry up.
You can also try a range of its other latest releases such as Gourmet Burger Meal (₹339), WcSaver Meal (₹149) and pair them with super-refreshing Berry Cooler (₹133), Strawberry Sundae, or WcFurry Oreo.
Knock Knock
Announcing itself from afar, this McD store in Bandra is currently a hot attraction, for children are seen storming the ground and first floor of the restaurant! With spacious interiors straight outta anime land, WcDonald’s welcomes one and all for a relaxing bite after long hours of shopping at Linking Road. You can also head to the first floor with your laptop for a quick bite while working.
