Mumbai Airport records highest-ever passenger traffic with 51.58 million travellers in 2023

With an astonishing 35% surge in passenger traffic from 2022 to the present, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is soaring to new heights. Handling an impressive 51.58 million passengers in the year 2023, especially in November and December, Mumbai Airport has set a new record. Over 25.4 million arrivals and 26.1 million departures have been reported, under the same.

Notably, CSMIA recorded 3,34,391 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) in CY 2022, compared to 2,77,052 ATMs in CY 2023, marking a phenomenal 20% increase in ATMs. Achieving a remarkable 110% recovery in passenger traffic compared to the pre-pandemic era, CSMIA marked record-breaking ATMs on November 11, 2023 and the highest-ever single-day passenger movement on November 25, 2023.

However, December 2023 witnessed the airport's highest monthly traffic ever, with 4.89 million passengers - a notable 13% increase over December 2022. With unparalleled success, CSMIA is undeniably riding the aviation wave.
