Likely to be ready by June, Vashi Bridge to ease traffic congestion between Mumbai & Navi Mumbai

Managed and procured by L&T Limited, the estimated cost of the project is ₹558 crore.

The ongoing construction of Thane Creek Bridge, also known as Vashi Bridge, is designed to accommodate the increasing vehicular traffic expected once the Navi Mumbai International Airport becomes operational. Further, it will enhance connectivity between Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and beyond. MSRDC is hoping to open one side of the road, potentially by June for Mumbai and in November for Navi Mumbai, respectively.

Managed and procured by L&T Limited, the estimated cost of the project is ₹558 crore. According to an official from Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), approximately 73% of the project work has been completed. The new bridge, spanning 1.84 km with 1.25 km approach roads and a toll plaza, will feature two bridges of three lanes each on both sides, adding six additional lanes to the existing six-lane bridge.

The existing bridge, often encounters traffic congestion. The new bridge is anticipated to alleviate traffic flow, especially during peak hours, festivals, and emergencies.
