Lineup REVEALED! Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival 2023 to feature 250 films in 70 languages

The film festival is a cinematic celebration of International and South Asian movies.

Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival 2023 is due to start on October 27 and its illustrious lineup, featuring diverse filmmakers, has been announced. The list of participating filmmakers boasts a number of acclaimed auteurs like Pedro Almodovar, Anurag Kashyap, Ken Loach, Aki Kaurismaki, Wang Bing, and Bradley Cooper.

Showcasing the rich culture of South Asia 

This film festival in Mumbai will last 10 days and a total of 250 films in 70 different languages will be premiered. The lineup for the same has been carefully put together to feature the very best of Global and South Asian cinema.

Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival will feature both competitive and non-competitive sections. The former section will see contemporary films from South Asia being premiered, including 14 films from debutants and budding filmmakers from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Due to its focus on South Asian cinema, the non-competitive section will showcase a total of 46 films from the region. These movies, including both features and non-features, will showcase the rich culture and diversity across South Asia.

90 international movies from 35 different countries

This upcoming film festival in Mumbai will also feature a slew of international titles. From Pedro Almodovar's Strange Way of Life to Maestro by Bradley Cooper, the fest will showcase a whopping 90 international titles, including documentaries, from 35 countries.

All these titles and more, will be premiered in 12 different categories. These consist of four South Asian categories - two categories for Mumbai and Maharashtrian cinemas, and two for international features and other cinematic works.

In addition to that, there will be a category showcasing short films along with three categories, honouring classics and recognising individuals who have contributed greatly to the art of filmmaking.
