IPL 2022 Match 12 preview & fantasy league; Lucknow Super Giants to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad

It's never easy for a team to hit the top gear on a new track, however, it is also never too late to hit back after a loose start. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Lucknow Super Giants in the Match 12 of IPL 2022. After a brutal defeat by Rajasthan Royals, both in the bowling and batting front, Sunrisers Hyderabad plans to make a comeback in their second game.

Such a start wouldn’t be a matter of concern when they have the combination of the right personnel in the background in form of Dale Steyn, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan and Tom Moody to lift a squad from a heavy defeat.

The last SRH game saw the top 4 batters winding up in just 11 runs, however, Aiden Markram fought with the right temperament hitting a crucial knock of fifty runs. Well, this is a good sign for the team management, as it allows the management to jig up the batting order at the beginning of the tournament itself. Their bowling attack has always looked strong historically and looks good this time too but they do lack a wicket-taking spinner in the playing XI to take a stand during the middle overs.

On the other hand, the newcomers, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will head into this fixture with more confidence than their opponents. After coming off with a giant victory against the former champions, following a huge run chase of above 200. The KL Rahul-led side has found a gem of a talent in Ayush Badoni who played an excellent cameo towards the end while it was Evin Lewis’ monstrous knock that took the side home.

With three strong middle-order batsmen, Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni, the LSG’s middle order looks way too strong against the opponent’s Markram led middle order. In the previous matches, it was evident that the top-order batsmen from both teams faced challenges in scoring good runs, which is a concern for the captains of both the teams.

Match 12 of the iconic league will be played at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. With the expected temperature hovering around 31°C on the matchday, humidity at 53% and the wind speed at 11 km/hr. The stadium has so far hosted three games in the season and the pitch has been relatively unpredictable.
