Ahead of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 68th death anniversary, also known as Mahaprinirvan Diwas, Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for December 5-7. This has been put forward to manage the expected influx of visitors at Chaitya Bhoomi in Shivaji Park, Dadar.
Thousands of followers are expected to gather, and to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety, several routes will face restrictions.

Road Closures & Diversions:

Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road and S.K. Bole Road will be closed or diverted.

Heavy vehicles restricted on S.V. Road, L.J. Road, Gokhale Road, and Senapati Bapat Road.

Tilak Bridge and access points to N.C. Kelkar Road will be closed.
No-Parking Zones:

No-parking areas will be enforced across multiple roads, including Swatantra Veer Savarkar Road, Dnyneshwar Mandir Road, Ranade Road, and surrounding streets.
Alternative Parking:

Parking available at Senapati Bapat Marg, Kamgar Stadium, and other designated locations.
CR to run special trains, platform tickets banned
In addition, Central Railway will operate 12 special local trains on December 5-6, connecting key stations, with a ban on platform tickets to manage crowds. Special trains will run on the Parel-Kalyan and Kurla-Panvel sections, ensuring smoother access for commuters during Mahaparinirvan Diwas celebrations.
The Mumbai Traffic Police urge residents to plan their journeys in advance, use public transport, and follow all diversions to avoid inconvenience during the Mahaparinirvan Diwas observances.
