India's ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is hitting a major milestone, with the construction of its 12 modern stations nearing completion. The Ministry of Railways announced the progress, highlighting that the eco-friendly stations are designed to blend cutting-edge technology with local cultural identity, promising to "redefine passenger comfort.

508-km corridor, 12 stops & faster journeys

The 508-km corridor will connect eight stations in Gujarat, including Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, and four in Maharashtra, with a short stretch through Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Once operational, the limited-stop service will cover Mumbai to Ahmedabad in just 2 hours and 7 minutes, while the all-stops service will take 2 hours and 58 minutes.

Union Railway Minister has confirmed that operations will begin “very soon,” though an official inauguration date is yet to be announced. Fares are expected to range between ₹3,000 and ₹5,000 depending on service and class.

Executed by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL), the project will bring Japanese Shinkansen-style travel to India, slashing journey times and setting a new benchmark in the country’s transport infrastructure.
