Service modifications on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A & 7
As per the official update, Line 2A continued its regular service between Andheri West and Dahisar East. To manage operations, a short-loop service was started between Gundavali and Aarey. In addition, single-line operations were put in place between Ovaripada and Aarey, meaning trains had to share the same track in both directions.
These changes left many commuters at Dindoshi Metro Station unsure about when normal services would resume, causing frustration and calls for better coordination and real-time updates during peak hours.

Officials assured that these adjustments were temporary, aimed at optimising operations while ensuring passenger safety and convenience remained a top priority.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s monorail services are also facing a planned suspension. This is to allow for a major upgrade, including the installation of new signalling systems and refurbishment of the train fleet.
Trial runs begin on Thane’s first metro line
In contrast, Mumbai’s metro network is rapidly expanding. The trial runs for the new Metro Line 4A in Thane were recently flagged off. The full 32-km Line 4 is set to be operational by 2027. The project is being hailed as historic for Thane, ushering in a new era of connectivity. Alongside other planned lines, it will create a comprehensive metro network around Mumbai.
