Winter chills to last till Sunday; Minimum temperature rises to 17.3°C

Mumbai witnessed a slight increase in the minimum temperature on Wednesday, moving up to 17.3°C from 16.2°C on Tuesday. But the weather department has predicted the chill in the air to continue till, at least, Sunday. Furthermore, some regions in Mumbai, like Colaba, experienced above-normal minimum temperatures.

IIT Bombay to analyse and submit final report on Malabar Hill Reservoir reconstruction

With the final decision on the Malabar Hill Reservoir reconstruction due in 15 days, BMC has requested IIT Bombay to submit the final report regarding the same. It is noteworthy that an interim report from the technical expert committee had suggested repairs instead of reconstruction.

Now, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay will take into consideration the suggestions and submit the final report.

Special trains announced between Bandra and Surat's Udhna

In a bid to clear the extra rush, Western Railway has announced a special Superfast Train from Bandra Terminus to Udhna in Surat. This new special train (No. 09055 and 09056) will take a total of 64 trips, taking halts at Borivali, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Valsad, Bilimora, and Navsari. Furthermore, this train will consist of Sleep Class coaches and General Second-Class coaches.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway to remain closed for six hours today

Due to construction work, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will remain closed between 11 AM and 5 PM on Thursday, January 18. The expressway will stay closed due to the ongoing construction work for the Panvel-Karjat Double Track Suburban Rail Corridor.

In view of the closure, alternative routes have been announced, including routes through NH48 and Mumbai Lane.
