Notably, reports state that the IMD has witnessed the failure of mathematical models to predict the effect of monsoons over Delhi. Subsequently, the organisation is keeping a strict and vigilant eye on the evolving circumstances. As per the forecasts, heavy to alarming categories of rains are expected across Gujarat, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Mahe.

In view of the red alert issued for Goa and regions of central Maharashtra, officials have been asked to take necessary action in a bid to avoid any troublesome situation. Previously, the effects of Cyclone Tauktae had unleased major difficulties for the two states besides causing damage and destruction. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the authorities to ensure such practices that are conducive towards evading unexpected problems.

Further, reports state that some areas of Maharashtra have been enveloped under rains for the past 24 hours and the situation may aggravate in the coming days.
