In an effort to enhance pedestrian safety effectively, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has introduced new road markings at Ram Ganesh Gadkari Chowk near the entry and exit points of Dadar Metro Station. A yellow box has been painted at the intersection to improve visibility and prevent vehicles from blocking the junction, thereby easing congestion. In addition, a clearly demarcated pedestrian crossing has been installed to improve safety for metro commuters on foot.

Part of a wider upgrade across metro line 3

The upgrade is part of a broader initiative to improve access and safety around Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line), which runs underground from Colaba to SEEPZ. Similar changes are being rolled out at other major junctions near metro stations, according to an official update shared on MMRC’s social media platform X.

Dadar Metro Station is a major stop on the fully underground 33.5-kilometre Aqua Line, which includes 27 stations. With rising footfall, especially at major interchanges like Dadar, safety and traffic control measures are seen as critical steps toward improving urban mobility.
