Mumbai's iconic Carter’s Blue turns 18 with new Andheri outlet | Know highlights
There are restaurants that come and go, and then there are legends that become part of the city’s heartbeat. For Mumbai, Carter’s Blue is very much the latter. For 18 years, it’s been the place we turn to when we crave comfort, flavour, and a little bit of everything on one plate. Now, it’s bringing that same charm to Andheri East — with a fresh space, familiar faces, and food that feels like home.
A new address, same blue soul
Celebrating nearly two decades of feeding the city, Cater’s Blue has now flung open its doors in Andheri East with a new outlet and a brand new emblem. The new outpost sits near the airport — and yes, it tips its hat to that very fact, with a huge sketch of CSMIA inside. Also making appearances on the walls are Marine Drive and the Gateway of India, bringing that familiar Bombay nostalgia into the mix.
Step inside and you will find a space that’s tastefully decorated in plush blues, soft off-whites, earthy florals, and a pop of red from statement chandeliers. It straddles the line between café-cool and restaurant-chic. Whether you are brunching with a book or tucking into biryani with the whole fam, it fits the mood!
Food that hasn’t lost its plot
Cater’s Blue has long been known for dishing out a winning mix of Lebanese, Chinese and Mughlai fare. Simple, yet flavourful! This restaurant doesn’t do fusion for the sake of it! It sticks to what it knows, and it knows it well. The menu is reassuringly unchanged, still packed with soft kebabs, hearty gravies, comforting noodles and more. And yes, its colourful, refreshing mocktails are back in action, perfect to sip through long chats and lazy evenings.
And if you needed one more reason to drop by — there are daily specials to look forward to, from smoky Paneer Haryali Tikka on Mondays to Chicken Angara midweek, and slow-cooked Mutton Do Pyaza to round off your weekend cravings.
Carter's Blue, The Library Cafe and Massimo Pizzeria: About the team
Owned by Mr. Mehboob Khan, also behind Bandra's The Library Cafe and Khar's Massimo Pizzeria, the new outlet retains its original culinary soul. Head Chefs Mithun and Riyaz, the longtime forces behind the kitchen, continue to lead the charge.
Knock Knock
Carter’s Blue is just right for a quick evening bite with siblings or a casual meal before hopping onto your next flight. And once you’re done, you can always head next door to Naturals for a scoop of its iconic Malai Ice Cream.
So whether you are a longtime fan or a curious first-timer, this new Andheri East restaurant promises the same heart and soul as its OG Carter Road counterpart. Follow Carter’s Blue on Instagram for more updates.
