Navi Mumbai hits top gear with Maharashtra’s maiden Formula Night Street Race, this December

Navi Mumbai is set to make motorsport history this December as it hosts Maharashtra’s first-ever Formula night street race, the grand finale of the Indian Racing Festival (IRF). Fans can expect an adrenaline-fuelled weekend featuring Indian Racing League (IRL) and FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC). Further, the races will bring together top Indian and international drivers.

The announcement followed the signing of an MoU between Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL) and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

Mumbai’s first FIA-grade street circuit

The event will debut Mumbai’s first FIA-grade street circuit which is a 3.753 km track with 14 turns, running along Palm Beach Road and Nerul Lake. Floodlit for the night race, the circuit will place Navi Mumbai on the global motorsport map, joining global destinations that host street racing spectacles.

Celebrities join the grid

Adding glamour to the grid, celebrity team owners include John Abraham (Goa Aces), Arjun Kapoor (Speed Demons Delhi), Sourav Ganguly (Kolkata Royal Tigers), Sudeep Kichcha (Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru), Naga Chaitanya (Hyderabad Blackbirds) and Dr Swetha Sundeep Anand (Chennai Turbo Riders).
