A new addition to the region, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is gearing up to begin domestic flight operations this April. According to recent reports, the airport is already 85% complete, and trial runs have successfully been carried out. The development of NMIA is a joint venture between Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO).

Further, to enhance connectivity between Mumbai’s two major airports, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport will be linked to NMIA via eight metro lines.

A VVIP Terminal: Who Will Get Access

One of the noteworthy features of NMIA will be its dedicated VVIP terminal. This exclusive terminal will cater to high-profile individuals, including Bollywood stars, business moguls, government dignitaries like governors and chief ministers, and defence personnel. With a focus on privacy and luxury, the terminal will offer distinguished travellers a premium experience.

Meanwhile, authorities are still in the process of finalising the eligibility criteria for access. The guidelines are expected to define who will be able to use this exclusive facility, and sources suggest that the families of the airport's promoters might also be granted special access.

This development aligns with a growing global trend of offering VIP services at international airports, where privacy and high-end amenities are becoming increasingly common.
