In a city crunched for space, this Bandra restaurant comes as a pleasant, spacious surprise.

The heart of Bandra, is where the vibrant streets of Ranwar Village meet the historical charm of St. Andrew's Church. While in this bustling locality, we made our way to The Lovefools - a "heritage village restaurant" serving global flavours while seated in an old Goan-style villa.

In a city like Mumbai, where most places seem to be crunched for space, The Lovefools comes as a pleasant, spacious surprise. This gem has been flying under our radar for a while now and we know, you’re going to love it, as much as we did.

Old yet always new!

Amid the rush of honking autos on a maniacal quest to get their customers home, we walked towards The Lovefools, from the main Hill Road Market. To ease out the search for its first-time customers, this Bandra resto has also put up signs across the street, that tell you the directions.

Housed in an old Portuguese heritage bungalow, The Lovefools welcomed us through its green door and an entrance, filled with planters and climbers. This greenery and home-style vibe coupled with its off-the-road location, offers a sense of serenity within the busy urban scene of Bandra. Also, this space makes the perfect setup for aesthetic Insta pictures as well!

Walk through the doors and you‘ll notice the presence of partially cemented bricks, balanced by the industrial accents of light fixtures, giving the place a warm inviting contemporary taste. A perfect image – old yet always new.

Private dinner at Lovefools

Essentially, The Lovefools is a "dinner lab", helmed by Chef Sarita Pereira, who has trained with Michelin-starred Catalan Chef Nandu Jobany. Taking inspiration from authentic Indian and international cuisines, Pereira and her team whip up magic on a plate with the help of underplayed cooking techniques and local produce.

As soon as you’re able to peel your eyes off the minimal yet beautifully decorated interiors, focus on grabbing one of its signature dishes or a bangin’ Masala Chai (₹120). Here, customer favourites also include When Truffle Met Miso (₹425) and Korean vs American Chicken (₹550), among several other items.

Interestingly, Lovefools is also known for hosting private dinners on request, with an elaborately curated meal. Call them and make your bookings in advance, for a comfortable dining experience.

Knock Knock

When it comes to a hearty meal at The Lovefools, what does one take back home? It’s the aftertaste of the food alongside the warm conversations around it, under the open courtyard area or inside one of the cosy rooms. With an overall intimate and welcoming vibe, this Bandra restaurant delivers a dining experience like no other. Follow The Lovefools’ Instagram handle for more updates.

When: 9 am - 6:30 pm | 7:30 pm - 12 midnight

Where: C14, 525, Ranwar, Bandra West

PS: Chef Sarita Pereira also has a bakery in collaboration with Chef Aniket Sawant at Ranwar Village, named Love Crummbs. So don’t confuse the two.
