Your Mumbai-Goa trip is about to get an upgrade! M2M Ferries is preparing to launch a roll-on, roll-off (Ro-Ro) passenger ferry that will not only carry passengers but also their cars. As per reports, M2M Ferries has already purchased a RoPAX vessel and is moving quickly towards making the new service a reality.

The company is in the final stages of obtaining the necessary approvals to begin operating, said media sources.

A quick and convenient travel option

The new ferry is a 15-year-old second-hand vessel that M2M Ferries has brought in from Italy. Currently undergoing modifications in dry dock in Mumbai, it is expected to be ready for service next month. The new ferry will complete the journey between Mumbai and Goa in six and a half hours, whereas road trips take somewhere around 12 hours.

The new vessel will be capable of carrying up to 620 passengers and 60 cars. If you are planning to move to Goa from Mumbai or vice versa and want to get your car shipped through a shipping company, the cost for the same can range in thousands, depending on the size of your car. However, the exact fare structure is still under discussion.

M2M Ferries is already a familiar name in Mumbai’s ferry services. It operates daily Ro-Ro services between Mumbai and Mandwa, the gateway to Alibaug's many beaches. Currently, there are no ferries that can carry cars from Mumbai to Goa.
