Shilpa Shetty's Bastian in Bandra to shut down after 9 years!
Bastian Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most recognisable restaurants and a celebrity hotspot, is shutting its doors on Thursday, September 3. Co-owned by actress Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra of Bastian Hospitality, the Bandra outlet has long been a fixture of the city’s social map, known as much for its glittering guest list as for its seafood-led menu.
One last night of nostalgia and celebration
First launched in 2016, Bastian quickly became synonymous with Mumbai’s new wave of fine dining. In 2023, the restaurant shifted to a larger space on Linking Road, Bandra West, transforming into a multi-level venue marked by eclectic art, striking interiors, and a vibrant energy that defined its sophisticated charm. For nearly a decade, it stood out not just as a restaurant but as a cultural destination.
Shilpa Shetty, who announced the closure on Instagram, called it “the end of an era”, promising patrons one last night of nostalgia and celebration. The statement captured the sentiment of many: “A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city’s nightlife now takes its final bow.”
With its legacy firmly etched into Mumbai’s dining and nightlife narrative, Bastian Bandra’s closure marks both nostalgia and renewal. While the shutters come down on Linking Road, the spirit of Bastian remains alive. Its sister outpost, Bastian At The Top in Dadar West, will continue to dazzle diners from the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square. It offers panoramic views of the city alongside its celebrated seafood specials and craft cocktails.
