Eritrean Berhane Tesfay and Kenyan Joyce Chepkemoi Tele claimed the men's and women's titles at the 20th Tata Mumbai Marathon, a prestigious World Athletics Gold Label Road Race. Tesfay won his first marathon with a time of 2:11:44, while Tele secured her second consecutive win in just three months, finishing in 2:24:56.

The marathon, a highlight of Mumbai's sporting calendar, drew over 60,000 participants, running through the city's iconic landmarks, including the Gateway of India and Marine Drive. The event, flagged off by international ambassador Mo Farah, saw a total prize pool of ₹4 crore, with winners taking home USD 50,000 for first place.

Indian runners also made their mark, with Anish Thapa finishing first among men in 2:17:23, and Nirmaben Thakor defending her women's title in 2:50:06.
