THIS Mumbai auto driver's meter never runs yet earns up to ₹5-8 lakh/month; know how!
Mumbai’s streets have birthed an unlikely entrepreneur, an auto driver who earns a jaw-dropping ₹5–8 lakh per month without even turning on his meter. His secret? A brilliant "bag babysitting" service for flustered US visa applicants outside the consulate. Curious how he did it? Here’s the full story.
Auto driver’s ₹1,000 bag hack goes viral
The story went viral after Lenskart’s Rahul Rupani shared his experience on LinkedIn. Denied entry with his bag and told to “figure it out” by security, he was rescued by the auto driver’s pitch: “Sir, bag de do. ₹1,000 charge hai.”
Turns out, the driver parks daily outside the consulate, charging ₹1,000 per bag to hold belongings for 20–30 applicants. To stay legal, he partners with a local police officer who provides secure lockers nearby, making his auto just the friendly “storefront.”
No app, no funding, no MBA, just pure street-smart hustle solving a hyper-local problem. “Real entrepreneurship doesn’t need a pitch deck”, posted Rupani. “Sometimes it just needs a parking spot and 30 nervous visa applicants.”
