Uber to soon offer Mumbai metro ticketing; see list of new features!

Mumbai commuters will soon be able to book Metro tickets directly through the Uber app. The feature is part of Uber’s integration with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and has already been launched in Delhi. With this, Uber will become one of the first private companies to offer Metro ticketing in Mumbai through ONDC.

1. Open the Rider app: Once the feature is rolled out, update the app. Navigate to the Metro Tickets icon on the screen.

2. Select your station: Choose the starting point/destination stations from the dropdown and select the number of passengers.

3. Confirm details: Verify fare and route before proceeding.

4. Payment: Make quick and easy payments via UPI.

5. Access your ticket: Your ticket will appear as a QR code in the app; scan it at the metro gate to travel.

• Airport Priority Access: Uber riders can now enjoy dedicated terminal pick-up points at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), located at Level P6.

• Courier XL: Previously limited to parcels of up to 5kg, Uber Courier now allows users to send heavier shipments weighing up to 750kg.

• Uber Pet: This new option, available under Reserve rides, caters specifically to passengers accompanied by animals.

• Wait & Save: Passengers can opt for a slightly longer wait time in exchange for a lower fare.

• Uber for Seniors: Launching this month, this simplified service offers a user-friendly interface with larger buttons and fewer steps, designed to support elderly riders.

• Price Lock: Helps users avoid surge pricing by locking in fares.

• Uber for Teens: Aimed at safer, supervised travel for younger users, with built-in parental controls.
