15% of the civil work on the ongoing Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL) has been completed, stated Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC)’s Supervising manager. This sea link is being constructed along Mumbai’s west coast and will link Bandra (south side) to Versova at Nana Nani Park (north side). However, due to repeated delays, MSRDC sought an extension for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link (VBSL) project.
So considering that only 12% of the work has been completed since 2019 till January 2024, contractors now have a revised deadline. The time limit has now been increased from December 2026 to May 2028.

Progress Report:
One pier of the project has been successfully completed, meanwhile piling work for other pier is currently underway. To streamline the construction work, barges have been strategically placed at ten different locations in the sea, facilitating swift movement of raw materials, machinery, and work force. A specially designed barge, equipped with a floating concrete factory, a mixing plant, a pump and a separate placing boom has also been assembled to accelerate construction further.
