The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has released first visuals of the newly built Dharavi Metro Station, part of Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line 3. Constructed using the cut-and-cover method along the banks of the Mithi River, the station faced multiple challenges, including land acquisition issues, traffic diversions, and the relocation of utilities.
Officials have confirmed that full-scale inspections are scheduled around April 10, and services may begin by this weekend or early next week, depending on the outcome.
Modern design and infrastructure revealed
New images shared by Mumbai Metro 3 on X (formerly Twitter) reveal the elevator, corridors, and ticket-checking zones, showcasing the modern infrastructure of the station. The Dharavi Station is a crucial component of the 33.5 km long Aqua Line, which will connect Cuffe Parade, BKC, and Aarey JVLR through 27 underground stations.
