In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is offering a 50% discount for women tourists on stays at its resorts across the state until March 8th. This move aims to encourage more women to travel and promote gender-inclusive tourism.
The initiative, officially announced in Mumbai by the state’s Tourism Minister, builds on last year’s success when over 1,500 women availed the discount. Highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering women-friendly tourism, the minister remarked, “The ‘Aai’ policy reflects our government’s commitment to creating safe and enjoyable tourism experiences for women. After the overwhelming response last year, we decided to extend the initiative this year as well.” Bookings for these discounted stays are available via the official MTDC website.
Moreover, encouraged by the overwhelming support last year, the government has expanded its discount policy as well. Women travellers can enjoy money-saving stays for an additional 22 days throughout the year, with specific dates to be updated later on the MTDC website.
