Indian Coast Guard inducts new ALH Mark-III units

In a major boost to further strengthening the Coast Guard Region North West, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Tuesday commissioned its Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) MK III helicopters at Porbandar in Gujarat which includes an armed version helicopter also which can hit targets from 1800 metres.

The ALH MK III squadron was commissioned by the Director-General of Indian Coast Guard VS Pathania at ICG Air Enclave in Porbandar today. Indian Coast Guard has inducted an armed version of the ALH Mark3 chopper in the Gujarat region which is armed with a 12.7 mm Heavy Machine Gun which can effectively hit targets at over 1800m.

According to ICG, the choppers are going to boost the maritime surveillance capabilities of the force along the border with Pakistan. The chopper is armed with a 12.7 mm Heavy Machine Gun which can effectively hit targets at over 1800m.

ALH MK III helicopters that have been indigenously manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), feature state-of-the-art equipment including advanced RADAR as well as Electro-optical sensors, Shakti engines, full glass cockpit, high-intensity searchlight, advanced communication systems, automatic identification system as well as search-and-rescue homer.

Hyderabad Airport sees highest passenger recovery in 2021-22

Hyderabad International Airport had the highest international passenger recovery, during 2021-22 compared to other metro airports in India.

During April 2021-March 2022, Hyderabad Airport's recovery in the domestic segment was at par with Delhi International Airport. The airport witnessed a steady increase in passenger footfall and Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) over the last few months.

The Hyderabad Airport witnessed over 15 lakh domestic passengers and around 2.7 lakh international travellers, last month. The domestic traffic recovery of the airport was 93% of the pre-Covid level and international traffic recovery was 86% during May.

On June 10, the number of international passengers crossed 10,000 the international passenger segment. This is the highest ever post Covid international passenger number at Hyderabad.

The city also added flights to new international destinations such as Chicago and the Maldives. Recently Thai Smile Airlines resumed direct Hyderabad-Bangkok flights. Further, AirAsia Berhad also resumed its Hyderabad- Kuala Lumpur flights recently.

Domestic indices rise, Sensex up over 300 pts

Domestic equity indices traded marginally higher in the morning session on Thursday.

Other major Asian markets were trading in the red in the early Thursday trade. Sensex was at 53,334.05 points, up 307.08 points whereas Nifty was at 15,871.90 points, up 72.80 points.

Among the individual stocks, SBI, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top five gainers among the Nifty 50 companies, while Cipla, ONGC, Tata Consumers, Coal India, and Shree Cement were the top five losers, National Stock Exchange data showed.

Domestic equity indices witnessed high volatility due to consistent depreciation of the rupee, foreign fund outflows, and prevailing inflation concerns, among others. Indian currency rupee has been consistently hitting fresh all-time lows.

Intel offers tech-based solutions to tackle road safety issues in India

India-Cuba review bilateral relations at Foreign Office Consultations in Havana

The second round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held in Havana between India and Cuba reviewed the entire gamut of their bilateral relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest including cooperation in the United Nations. Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Gerardo Penalver exchanged views on further enhancing bilateral ties between Cuba and India.

An agreement on short-term credit worth 100 million Euros for procurement of rice from India for Cuba was signed between the two countries. India and Cuba maintain close contacts with each other in UN, NAM and other international fora and they enjoy excellent bilateral relations.

Nokia G11 Plus launched with 50MP camera and 3-day battery life

Nokia unveiled the G11 in February, and today, it released the Plus variant.
According to sources, the 6.51" HD+ 90Hz screen of the Nokia G11 Plus has a notch for the 8MP front camera. There is a 50-megapixel main camera on the back. There is a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication on the textured back panel.

The G11 Plus's CPU isn't listed on Nokia's official website, but the firm claims it has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 512GB with a microSD card.

Two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates are promised with the purchase of the G11 Plus. Nokia doesn't disclose the Android version that comes pre-installed on the G11 Plus, although it should be Android 12. The Nokia G11 Plus's cost and availability are unknown.

Romelu Lukaku returns to Inter Milan on season-long loan from Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku is officially an Inter Milan player again after completing his season-long loan move from Premier League club Chelsea.

The 29-year-old forward will go down as one of the biggest transfer flops in Premier League history and reportedly took a pay cut to secure his return to Italy after a miserable second spell at Chelsea.

Inter will pay Chelsea a loan fee of more than £6.9million, £3.5million in bonuses if they win the Scudetto, and will cover all his wages this season, reports Sky Sports.

The Belgian striker's return was made official in a video posted on Inter's social media channels with Lukaku saying "we're back baby".
