As part of an ongoing beautification project, a new park is being developed along a 900-metre stretch on both sides of Lucknow's Haider Ali Canal, in the 5 Kalidas Marg area. This LDA project aims to provide a peaceful recreational space for the locals while adding to the city's green initiatives.

The park will feature walkways, a cafeteria, parking facilities and extensive horticultural plantings. On Wednesday, Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Dr Roshan Jacob and LDA officials visited the site to review the project's progress.

900-meter park area to feature walkways, green zones

Reportedly, the park is being designed as a new 'Green Corridor' to enhance the area's aesthetic appeal while promoting a healthier environment for citizens. Spanning a 900-meter stretch, the park will feature walkways, seating areas and a dedicated green zone.

During her visit, Dr. Roshan Jacob also inspected the under-construction 'Saumitra Van' in the Akbarnagar area. The site, previously a slum, is now being transformed into a lush riverfront park. The project will further include an extensive Miyawaki forest, also aimed at enriching Lucknow's green cover.
