Goa's Tika Utsav 1.2 focused on the second dose of COVID vaccine, starts today!

With the purpose of scaling up the state's collective immunity against the deadly COVID-19, the Goa government will now float Tika Utsav 1.2, from 5 July. The focal point of this drive is set at injecting the second dose of vaccine to those who have completed 84 days, since the first shot.

Walk-in vaccination allowed in Goa for 18-44 age group from June 13

To foster rife immunisation against the COVID contagion in the state, the Goa government on Friday, undertook a resolution to launch Tika Utsav 3.0, from June 13 onwards. Additonally, holding the state's ultimate goal of achieving herd immunity in the near future, the authorities have now allowed walk-in registrations for the 18-44 age group. Further, the government is actively taking steps to ensure that the upcoming inoculation campaign covers 100% first dose inoculation for all citizens in the region.

Sanitation workers engaged in Goa Health Department's COVID-19 teams to be immunized first

Ahead of the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccination in the country on the 16th of January, Goa received 23,500 vaccine doses on Wednesday and the authorities have already earmarked 8 hospitals for the first phase of the immunization process. Further, the Dean of the Goa Medical College stated that sanitation workers who have been a part of the state Health Department's COVID-19 teams, will be the first recipients of the vaccine.
