Scientists from IIT Kanpur & other institutes predict fall in infection levels by early July!

While the country witnessed a towering peak of cases with high fatalities in mid-May, the SUTRA mathematical model developed by researchers from 3 institutes has some positive predictions now. As per the inferences of the study, cases are expected to lower significantly in the upcoming days and they will reach a figure similar to February tallies, by early July. Further, some reports also state that the graph would dip below the 1K-mark by mid-August, given certain conditions are followed.

ICMR & IIT Kanpur join hands to conduct feasibility study of COVID-19 vaccine delivery using drones

On Thursday, the Civil Aviation Ministry permitted the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to conduct a feasibility study of COVID-19 vaccine delivery using drones, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. As per a statement, the Ministry and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have granted conditional exemption to the ICMR for this purpose. "The permission exemption is valid for a period of one year or until further orders," the Ministry mentioned.

IIT Kanpur researchers predict COVID cases peak in mid-April, decline expected by May end

Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur(IIT-K) have converged their efforts to assess the current situation of COVID cases in the country with the help of a mathematical model. As per the findings of this analysis, it is expected that COVID cases would peak between April 15-20, before taking a downward trajectory. Further, it has also been inferred that the second wave would witness a significant decline by May end.
