After the troubled 2020-21 academic year, the second wave of the COVID pandemic is causing unsettling repercussions for the educational system once again. As per reports, it is expected that the entrance tests for undergraduate programs at Lucknow University will be held in the month of June, if the situation eases out till then. Given the stalled exams and delayed admission processes, it is hard to predict if the sessions will begin on time.
Extended admission process due to postponed board exams
As of now, online registrations for the admissions are allowed till May 3rd but it is anticipated that this deadline will be increased further. Due to the postponement of exams for class 12th students by national and state boards, the admissions process for undergraduate programs has also been extended. Only after a finalised plan for the annual board examinations is announced, the university will release the complete process of entrance tests and admissions.
In addition to this, the varsity's administration has also cancelled the B.Ed entrance exams, slated to be held on May 19. The new date for this assessment is awaited, which will be declared once the situation comes under control.
Lucknow University to induct new members in various departments
As per reports, Lucknow University is going to recruit new individuals at various vacant posts in different departments. All the applications shall be reviewed in accordance with the guidelines of the 2018 Resolution of the UGC. While the online portal will give an auto-generated score for all applicants, the screening committee will be authorised to alter them after reviewing but the reasons will have to be mentioned at the portal itself.
All such scores will be further verified by the higher authorities and then, the selected individuals will be called for interviews. The number of interviewees will be decided by the Vice-Chancellors and all chosen candidates shall be apprised on the virtual platform itself.
