Coronavirus cases on a rise in Lucknow; 7 new containment zones listed

As per new orders, about 7 new containment zones have been set up in prominent areas of Lucknow, given the recent surge in coronavirus cases. On Monday, Lucknow reported about 495 new COVID-19 cases, breaching the 400-mark for the second day in succession. As per the recorded data, the present-day infection count has emerged as the sharpest single-day rise since the beginning of 2021.

Rain-dance parties & other Holi celebrations cancelled in Lucknow amid surging COVID scare

In an order issued by the Lucknow Police Commissionerate and District Magistrate, all rain dance parties and other such celebrations on the occasion of Holi, stand cancelled in Lucknow. Circulated late on Tuesday evening, this notification detailed that all permissions awarded for all Holi events, including dance programmes, cultural programmes and other such public parties in the city have been annulled with immediate effect. This restraint has been moved in the state capital under the National Epidemic Act 1897 amid the surging COVID scare.

Lucknow's Lohia Hospital to get a new HLA machine that can predict success of transplant surgery

Organ transplant surgeries at Lohia Hospital in Lucknow will now be eased with the addition of a new HLA machine at the Transfusion Department here. This prep instrument is used to conduct tests on a patient undergoing the surgery and can help predict whether or not the operation will be a success. So far, only SGPGI in Lucknow had a human leukocyte antigen machine to check donor-receiver compatibility before the surgery.
