Today morning, residents of Lucknow and nearby areas woke up to overcast skies and moderate to heavy pre-monsoon rainfall was reported in several areas. As per the latest forecast of the weather department, it is expected that monsoons will hit Kanpur, Lucknow and other UP districts by this weekend, almost a week before the schedule. Thunderstorms & strong winds in store for Lucknow today

In a first in 20 years, Uttar Pradesh reportedly logged in the coolest May, where the average day temperatures ranged 40°C. This regulation was awarded by the frequent spells of cyclonic disturbances on either Indian coast, with Taukte on the West and Yass on the East. As per reports, the city has witnessed the warmest February in a period of 15 years, with mercury levels hovering over 33.4° celsius. Reportedly, the temperature, which has registered daily increments for the past 20 days, is anticipated to surpass an all-time record of 35.9° celsius for the month, observed on February 25, 2006.
